I've heard of it, but I don't think that I'm going to read it, I'm more interested in stories about Middle-earth is it a book really written by Tolkien or has he translated it?

It's a translation of an old Norse legend. He also translated the poem "Pearl" and "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" which I have. I love reading all the old norse legends and greek mythologies. You can definently see how Tolkien was inspired by the Norse legends.

okay thank you at school we read Beowulf in English, and my teacher said that Tolkien discovered that story
