Has anyone ever seen the movie "Willow"? It's a lot like LotR. It's like the LotR plot with Star Wars like characters.

I could loan it to you. There's a couple of scenes which were filmed in New Zealand. (sp?)

I can't seem to see the resemblance to LotR. It's about a small guy who needs to deliver a baby or something!

Willow, little guy. Frodo, little guy. Willow, conflict concerns protecting a baby from being captured and killed by the evil ones. LotR conflict concerns protecting a ring from being captured and used by the evil ones. Willow: big tall guy named Madmartigan who helps Willow in his journey. Lotr: Big tall guy named Aragorn who helps Frodo on his journey. Sorsha from Willow is very similar to Eoywn from LotR. The two Brownies are very similar to Merry and Pippin. There's lots more parallels.

Well, that doesn't mean he had a copy of LotR while writing the script. It just means he followed the most popular formula for movies at that time!
