Were you mad, or did you scream in anger when you saw how they made Faramir look stupid and like he was actually going to give the ring to Faramir?
I sure did. That was messed up.

I wasn't mad, but I was slightly confused... I think they played upon the fact that Boromir wanted to take the ring and keep it and Faramir was his brother.... or something like that.

Yeah. Not fair to Faramir, though, he was one of the few that truly resisted the Ring and they didn't show that.

Yeah I didn't really care for that, but at least they didn't actually have him go after Frodo or anything like Boromir did.

I feel bad for Faramir, since the one seen in the movie is the complete opposite of what we see in the book. First; He had black hair, not red, Second; He totally resisted the ring in the book, but in the movie he craved it, just like Boromir!

That is what made me mad, because Faramir is one of my favorite characters and I never have liked Boromir and they made Faramir almost like a carbon-copy of Boromir, both of them regretted what they had ALMOST done.

I know I'm a guest and shouldn't be here, but I think that maybe it was somewhat good because it showed that the ring was really powereful. I think it showed that he desprately wanted his father's approval. By showwing that we can get a better glance at how Faramir thinks. Then again I could just be crazy and have no idea what I'm saying.

no guests are always welcome to post! anyone can belong here! and i agree with you. faramir had two sides to him. in the beginning all he cared about was what his father wanted, but towards the end it was what he wanted for mankind and himself.

I don't really think that PJ tried to it look like he wanted the Ring so much as he wanted to please his father.
