Sounds like Eragon is a cheap rip-off with pathetic performances. I'll put it this way, I won't be going to see it.

well, I heard the book was very good but the movie is a poor adaptation. Haven't read or seen it yet, just what I heard - M

The book is great, it starts off like it is a rip off, but it goes on to be really great, the movie however is not so good, the trailer put me off it, I think all fantasy movies try to copy lotr, narnia did, probably eragon did.

Y'all might kill me for saying this, but I thought the book stunk. I can draw tons of parallels between it and Star Wars, Earthsea, etc. It's such a rip off, and the dialogue stinks.

I haven't seen the movie, but some people who share my opinion of the book said the movie was even worse, so I doubt I'm going to see the movie.

That's exactly what I heard. I never even read it just because I thought it sounded like a Tolkien rip off.

But every review I read said it ripped off both LotR and Star Wars. Some even said it took things from Harry Potter.

I don't know whether or not it really took stuff from HP, since I've never read those books or seen any movies beyond the first two, but it definitely took stuff from Star Wars.
