What actors...

Hey, I am unsure where to put this, so I put it here:
Which actors do you think should play the different people in the Silmarillion?

I'm not sure. Do you think The Silm. would make it as a movie? I personally would think it would be more convenient as a 12-hour mini-series.

Just thought of one, Colin Firth might make a good Beren.

I thought the min series would be cool, i've always pictured Sil as one day being a mini-series! I think that, since Arwen was supposed to look exactly like Luthien, it stands to reason that Liv Tyler should play her. It would be confusing though, because then Thingol may have to resemble Elrond somewhat, or Melian and Celebrian would have to look subtly alike...and Colin Firth would make a good Beren!

My hope is that they never make any Silmarillion miniseries or anything. It just wouldn't work. I mean, it covers like, twelve millenia, and it has no main characters. They'd have to have a huge cast to do it, and most of the people wouldn't be in there very long. Nobody would have any idea of what was going on unless they had read the book, so it would be more a fanatic's movie. I don't think it would work.

I'm quite sorry, but I don't think Katie Holmes would make a good Nienor, and I think Luthien should be played by someone else (though right now I have no idea who). Liv Tyler is ARWEN, and if Viggo Mortensen is not playing Beren, then ... I'll give it some thought, then I'll post again.
