i for one thought he was brilliant in lotr. he is my all time favorite actor ever. he's got real talent, and i think he pulled off Legolas with great excellence. i feel bad for him, he has gotten some tough criticism on his part for "ruining" the movie and being the worst actor out there. i disagree strongly. has anyone seen any of his other movies?

I haven't seen any of his other movies. I know what you are talking about when you say people are saying he is the 'worst' actor and he ruined the movie. I don't really know about all of that, and I don't try to get into it. I think people should realize one that he is new, and two Peter Jackson knew what he wanted out of Legolas. Then, whatever Peter Jackson wanted Orlando gave to him for Peter Jackson didn't fire Orlando anyway through the movies. Also, I think that anyone who can say a line slightly in character in front of a camera without being overwhelmed with nervousness in good.  |

I thought he did well in LOTR, but he wasnt spectacular. Thats not because he couldnt be, but he didnt really have a lot of lines. But overall his performance was solid. He was definitely not the worst actor. I really think its hard to pick a worst actor because everyone did very well...
I've seen him in POTC, and he was okay in that. Not as good as he was in LOTR, but decent.

I agree, he wasn't the worst actor but he certainly didn't have much of a chance to shine because in the movies he didn't really have that large of a part. But, what I did see of him, I liked.
Erm, I wasn't so pleased when I saw him in POTC mainly because it seemed like they were making him somewhat pathetic. But then, that's just my opinion... maybe it was because Depp was acting alongside with him. I dunno...

Yeah, Johnny Depp's performance in that movie was so brilliant it sort of made everyone else seem really mediocre.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, because I know that Knightley and Bloom are both excellent actors, but in that movie... well, I was more focused on watching Depp. But that's ok. *grins*

i know what you mean about potc, i wasn't very pleased with him in that either. i mean he did o.k, but i also thought his lotr performance was better. but as i've watched potc more and more i've noticed him more than depp and come to think...if you focus on him he did pretty good. i think depp outshined him though because he is so much more experienced than orlando. but i think they work great together!
did anyone see kingdom of heaven? he was brilliant in that!

i thought it was great! it kind of dragged at parts though, but the fight scenes were brilliant and orlando was awesome! he finally proved to everybody he can hold a leading role. although some still do disagree.

Well Orlando Bloom is a good actor, I wouldn't say that he ruined LotR, but it attracted a lot of teeny bopper girls who had no interest in the story, just for him. And about PotC, as much as many people think that Orlando Bloom was the main character in that movie, he wasn't. It was all Johnny Depp. So for the type of role that he played, I think he did rather well in it.

Maybe it is that all of the fan girls want Orlando Bloom to be the star of PotC. That way he could have his picture on the cover or something.

Yeah, a way you could tell that he wasn't the main character is that Johnny Depp's head is in the front on the cover.

You should also be able to tell be the storyline, but I think that some people weren't really paying attention to the storyline.
